[TF2] Fixing the Vaccinator - The Reworkshop
Ok everyone, this is a very long description, so if you want to read certain parts: The first paragraph is me thanking people, the second is my current thoughts on the channel, the third is an in-depth explanation of what I’ll be doing with this video series, the fourth is to clear up my opinion on the vaccinator in competitive, and the fifth one contains updates on my current life.
First things first, I have to thank LazyPurple for allowing me to show a couple of his video clips, I can’t even begin to explain how much it means to me. Also, shoutout to my friends DrDapper and Intersepter9 for providing their voices in this video! If you want to avoid the exposition and get straight into things, skip to 2:27.
For those who have stuck with me, I know it’s been a while since I’ve uploaded, again. However, I am absolutely, POSITIVELY sure I can get this channel back on track. That is, if I don’t get burnt out on editing. I really do think this is a turning point for me, as I now want to start breaking out of gameplay-focused videos and into a format that I feel works best for my interests.
Anyway, I should probably explain what I actually want to do with this series. I’ve seen a lot of videos about broken weapons. Typically, these videos explain why certain weapons are bad or how to use those bad weapons in-game, but they don’t seem to go into depth on ways to FIX these weapons. My idea with the Reworkshop is to do what everyone else has been doing, but, rather than wasting time on rehashing previously known issues, I’ll instead focus more time on the potential reworks and hypothetical situations those reworks would bring about. I didn’t spend much time with the hypotheticals for this video because I need to get used to this format. However, you will probably see more of me theorizing next video!
Now, I need to point this out here, my points about the vaccinator in competitive are SOLELY based on my opinion on how it would compare against the other mediguns in traditional 6v6. I was not thinking about unrestricted 6s, where the meta was to stack medics, one with the vaccinator and the other with stock. Also, the vaccinator isn’t just banned for countering the kritz; it’s banned because it’s not fun to play with or against. I wasn’t able to get this bit in the video because I recorded the audio and didn’t feel like re-recording. I’ll try to keep conversations on competitive to a minimum from here on out, as I'm sure I'm going to get a LOT more things wrong if I try to say what problems other weapons have in formats I haven't even experienced.
Anyway, now it’s time for some obligatory updates. Some of you may remember the issues I faced with my computer in the past. Hopefully, I won’t have many more issues, as I was recently given a pretty capable laptop. Now, I can actually move my setup to a better recording area without bothering anyone else in my family as well as play games at a good framerate (and record at better quality surprisingly)! An another note, I’m finishing up my senior year, so I’ll definitely have to start looking into better managing my time as I prepare for college. I may not be able to consistently upload when I eventually do begin that stage of my life, but I am definitely going to start becoming more active with my lifestyle choices so I can get stuff up for you guys.
Once again, for those who have known me for a while, thank you for sticking with me. I don’t think content creation is my true calling, but it still is a part of my life. I’m still far from reaching a true YouTube milestone, but I still have hopes that one day I will make it past 500 subscribers and, perhaps, even further than that.
