A demo/walkthrough of Monome's new instrument Norns running the MLR application, using Grid as a controller.
MLR is a grid-based sample cutting application. Currently it can hold 4 tracks of independent looping, with start/end manipulation, speed changing, and direction toggle. Basic workflow is covered in this video.
For this demo I'm running a sequence from Ableton through Yarns to sequence two voices: Basilimus Iteritas Alter and Manis Iteritas. These voices go through Tallin for slight overdrive, then into Morpheus for filtering. Quad VCA converts the signal to mono so that it can be modulated by Instant Lofi Junky, and then into Magneto before heading to the output module, where it travels to the inputs of Norns.
