Lab 5 Manage and Edit Data in
Objectives:
• To get familiar with Census TIGER Shapefile
• Learn how to manage and edit data in ArcGIS Pro
Data:
• Download the population data of all states (Table: B01003) in the USA from Census https://www.census.gov/data.html
• Download the TIGER Shapefile of all states in the USA from Census https://www.census.gov/geographies/ma...
Steps:
1. Clean the population data (CSV).
2. Upload the CSV file and the shapefile to the OneDrive folder or AppStream.
3. Start an ArcGIS Pro project, make connections to the folders which contain your downloaded data.
4. Join the population table to the shapefile.
5. Export joined shapefile to the project’s geodatabase.
6. Add new fields to calculate the population density for all sates.
7. Edit the metadata of the exported feature class.
8. Customize the pop-up for the exported feature class.
9. Create a map to show the population density of all states.
