Just a quick update with how everything is doing in September 2023 at the allotment. We're still growing some spinach, lettuce and radishes, although we haven't had a tremendous amount of luck with the radishes I think it's related to the soil but lesson learned we'll try again next year. The spinach is doing really well, we've picked a few leaves and apparently it's supposed to keep producing throughout the year so we'll keep an eye on that and let you guys know how it does in case you want to also grow it.
The fruit bushes are still doing well some have died off a bit but that's to be expected, several have little berries which we will pick so next year we should have even more but it takes time for them to mature.
Water collection is good, lots of rain lately so we'll store all that for next year as it's best to water your plants etc with rain water. Lately I have been just tidying things up, keeping the weeds away every now and then otherwise they take over especially when it rains.
The area that had the tomatoes and potatoes has been completely cleared, plans are to use some plastic weighted down to solarise that, then we'll figure out what we want to plant up next time it's a big area. We'll look at growing blight resistant tomato's if possible, and also will still try potato's too.
Thanks for watching!
