The sequel to "Moana," "Moana 2," will be released in Japanese theaters on December 6, 2024 (Friday)!
Tomona Yabiku will reprise her role as the voice of Moana, and Matsuya Onoe will reprise his role as the voice of Maui in the Japanese version!
The director of this film is David Derrick Jr., who participated as a story artist on "Moana."
The music, one of the biggest attractions of Disney animation loved around the world, will be composed by Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, who became the youngest ever winners of the Best Musical Theater Album award at the 64th Grammy Awards. Furthermore, Opetaia Foa'i and Mark Mancina ("The Lion King," "Tarzan," etc.), who worked on the previous film, will also be contributing. We can look forward to the music created by the powerful duo of young musicians Barlow and Bear, and Foa'i and Mancina, who returned from the previous film.
The unforgettable, soul-stirring music and the inspiring story of Moana created a Moana craze throughout Japan with "Moana and the Legend of the Sea." What kind of adventures will Moana embark on in the latest installment? And what kind of music will be featured? Expect incredibly realistic depictions of the southern islands, beautiful skies, and ocean—almost unbelievable for animation—and a story on a grand scale!
