So I tried to "fix" the massive compression that my phone did - sorry I couldnt really do it.
The key takeaways are:
1 - amp is loud
1a - the inbuilt fan makes a bit of noise but is only audible when you are close to it - the audience would be unlikely to hear it above the amp except during extreme quietness
2 - mine needs some fixing (passive input jack not engaging)
3 - Enhancer is more like a mid boost
4 - Seems to suck a little high end tone
there is an EQ section so you can add it back
5 - sounds good regardless of bass
active bass with own preamp is monster into this
6 - my voice needed post processing of 20 dB due to compression on phone - 20dB is pretty loud so the amp was pushing out some power
7 - I can put a bit more articulation in using this amp - smaller practice amps are not necessarily a LOT quieter but they do not seem to represent my basses as good
Of course using a decent audio interface for studio work (or even a Zoom pedal) is an effective way ot listening "in ear".
