In this clip from the DeFranco Insider POWER Hour, I talk about the importance of grip strength as it relates to athletic performance and strength training application. It’s really important to understand that grip is one of the most overlooked aspects of a well designed strength training program. And, it must be made a priority for all athletes and for all lifters who are trying to progress in the weight room. As discussed, there are five aspects of grip training; support, crush, pinch, levering, and hand health (dexterity). I’ve written about grip training for over 20 years and even presented at some early NSCA PA State clinics in the early 2000’s.
