Bron is a non-custodial crypto wallet that replaces the traditional seed phrase with MPC (multi-party computation) and a guardian-based recovery system. In this review I walk through how it actually works, what's interesting about the security model, and where the trade-offs are.

📌 What's inside
The seed-phrase problem — why so many crypto users still lose access to their wallets
How MPC (multi-party computation) works in plain language — why your private key never exists in one place
The guardian system — assigning trusted contacts or secondary devices for recovery
The 48-hour security delay that protects against fraudulent recovery attempts
What the Bron app actually looks like — onboarding via email, dashboard, in-wallet exchange and staking
Subscription tiers paid in Bron tokens — what they unlock and whether they're useful
Trade-offs and limitations to think about before switching
📊 Quick facts
Architecture: non-custodial, MPC-based key management
Recovery: guardians (trusted contacts or secondary devices) + 48-hour security delay
Built by: team behind Copper.co, led by Dmitri Tokarev (institutional custody background)
Onboarding: email + confirmation code, no seed phrase to write down
Versions: web, desktop (full features), mobile
⚠️ Honest trade-offs to keep in mind
1. "No seed phrase" doesn't mean "no responsibility". You still need to keep your guardians safe and your account access protected.
2. MPC is a real cryptographic improvement over single-key wallets, but it relies on the wallet provider's infrastructure remaining operational. Self-custody with a seed phrase is fully sovereign; MPC depends on the design and uptime of the issuer's coordination layer.
3. Some advanced features only work in the desktop version, not the browser one.
4. The Bron token is used for in-app subscription tiers — that's a utility role, not an investment proposition. Don't confuse "buying tokens to unlock features" with "buying tokens for upside".
5. As with any wallet, never store your full balance in a wallet you haven't tested with small amounts first.
