Massive Protests In
Pitched battles on the streets of Tel Aviv. Thousands of protesters clashing with the police.
Public anger boiled over after Sunday brought news about the discovery of bodies of six hostages.
Israeli forces say the bodies were found in a tunnel in Rafah, shortly before they got there.
The eldest of the hostages was just 40. Four others were in their early twenties. And American Israeli Hersh Goldberg-Polin was 23.
In New York, Hersh’s father told a gathering that these deaths could have been prevented had the Israeli government got going with a deal.
Back in Israel, thousands in central Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on Sunday calling on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to do more to bring home the remaining hostages held in Gaza.
Over 100 Israeli and foreign captives still remain in Gaza, but around a third of these are believed to have died, with the fate of others unknown. Netanyahu says those who murder hostages do not want a deal.
