Tons of Drugs Set Ablaze; Bulk Of It Was Cocaine Hidden In Lemon Boxes
Authorities in the Dominican Republic have burnt over two tonnes of drugs. These were substances seized during different operations.
Amongst the burnt drugs were 1.5 tonnes of cocaine hidden inside a lemon shipment coming from Colombia and headed to Hamburg.
“This is one of the biggest seizures at the multimodal Caucedo Port,” said Carlos Devers, public relations director at the National Drug Control Office.
Besides cocaine, authorities also destroyed marijuana, crack, ecstasy and hashish.
