ICELAND | Our trip from a Drone (Colorful end of Summer)
"Iceland land for drones" – they say. And definitely, it is!
What you are watching is a compilation of some of the best footage captured during my trip to Iceland. I spent 2 weeks there with my wife from August 22nd to September 5th.
I flew a little, light, and old, DJI Mavic Mini. Before the first flight, we spent time learning where it was allowed to fly drones and where not, and all the rules that regulate drone flying in Iceland.
The first attempts were quite tricky because of the very strong and gusty winds that constantly blow over Iceland, but then we got used to that environment. My only advice is to follow the rules: as soon as you enter Iceland, whether or not you have a drone with you, you will receive an SMS from the national police warning you about the drone rules! If you break the rules, especially in the most touristic places, for sure an environmental guard, a location manager, or a security officer, will come to you (albeit with veiled cordiality), and will force you to land the drone immediately: it didn't happen to us because I purposely followed the rules, but we happened to see such scenes in multiple places.
It's hard to find the best title for this video... Wonders from the sky? Flying over Iceland? Something related to the uncommon spots from which we made the shots... The colorful summer we had during this trip... As you can see there are many topics.
As I always say, Iceland is almost impossible to describe in words, and not even the classic images help to convey the idea of colors and spaces. However, at least something more can be understood from the drone: the fact remains that a visit in person is something that one cannot miss to experience in life!
