This is a tutorial on a method for imaged based lighting using the GLSL OpenGL render mode in blender. This is a CHEAT method, because it does not produce an authentic result... but it is perhaps a useful method for accomplishing a quick and effective lighting setup using 2D images and reflection textures. I also hit on the concepts of fake ambient occlusion using vertex paint and material nodes, compositing in the VSE, sampled motion blur in OpenGL render... and few other tips and tricks. I have to give major credit to Andrew Kramer at Video Copilot for the inspiration for this tutorial. I was motivated to find a method for applying OpenGL driven image based lighting after viewing one of Kramer's Element 3D tutorials on the same topic.
