Introducing our new app: The Particles
Ever wanted to find out about particle physics but been put off by thick books with little imagery? Want to know why the Higgs boson is so important? Well now, The Particles app for the Apple iPad, Windows 8 and Microsoft Surface can enable you to learn about particles in a new and exciting way.
Written by Oxford University physics professor Frank Close, and with images and animations from the Science Photo Library, The Particles app takes you on a journey through the strange world of particle physics. Each particle has a popular biography, and there are definition and explanations of key concepts, physicists and laboratories in the field. Images and animations include real data from research institutions including CERN, Fermilab and Brookhaven National Laboratory.
The Particles app is available for Apple iPad, Windows 8 and Microsoft Surface.
