Orchestra Etiquette 101 | 10 Tips To Help You Avoid Getting Fired
Let’s talk orchestra etiquette. There are some pretty specific norms when it comes to behavior when you’re part of an orchestra, and they’re not always obvious. So I have 10 orchestral etiquette tips to share with you here, which can hopefully help you out. Baseline good etiquette still applies in orchestra, as it should throughout life. Things like being attentive and quiet in rehearsal and performance, being early, basically anything a college professor would set as a rule in a class. I’m not gonna go through all of that with you, because I’m not your charm school instructor, and I don’t work for the Emily Post Institute. Instead, we’re going to go into the things that are quite specific to the music world, but which are no less important for you to know.
