As the war in Ukraine intensifies, rumours claimed Ukraine might face the fourth battlefront other than the Belarussian, Donbas region (Donbass region) and Russian-annexed Crimean front, which is the Transnistrian front.
But where is Transnistria (officially the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic)? Why did it exist? And why is it pro-Russian even though it's a non-neighbouring state with the Russian Federation?
