I'm continuing to talk about programs for working with text and formatting. This time, the featured program is the advanced free text editor "WordPad," which is included with every version of the Microsoft Windows operating system and is similar to the Word program in the Microsoft Office suite.
In this lesson, you'll learn:
• the differences between Notepad, WordPad, and Word
• how to edit and format text (part or all of a document at once)
• how to select and move text within a document
• how to change the font and size of text
• how to make text bold, italic, underlined, or strikethrough
• how to change the text color
• how to highlight text with a specific color
• how to align text to the left or right margin, center, or justify
• how to create a numbered list in WordPad (or Word—it works the same way)
• how to insert an image or your own drawing into text
• how to reduce or enlarge, and align an image within text to the edges or center
• how to find a specific word in text
Also:
• how to enable or disable page numbers
• how to change the orientation of a sheet/document from portrait to landscape (from vertical to horizontal) and vice versa
• how to replace A single word or a LOT of words in a huge text with just a couple of clicks
• What format (extension) is best to save your text files created in WordPad to AVOID TROUBLE!
