About Krystal Chang:
Krystal Chang is a designer of flowers, installations, and landscapes in Los Angeles. Working across these disciplines provides a means of engaging completely different scales of time, from the ephemeral bloom of a flower to the years-in-the-making of a house and the perpetual coming-into-being of a landscape.
“I would like to examine what gets designated public land, state and national park. What do we choose to honor and protect? Whose histories do we tell and what have we forgotten. Plants influence culture – they are the beginning point of what we eat, what colors we see, how we clothe ourselves, how we carry things, how we create habitations. The purpose of this project is to change how you see your surroundings, to make the unfamiliar familiar, to know the names, the stories, in the land around us.”
