In part 2 of the Hegel Lecture me and Sean Ledwith discuss the key concepts of the German philosopher G. W. F. Hegel (1770 - 1831). Hegel is a giant of philosophy and as Richard Rorty quipped Hegel is waiting for us at the end of every road.

The dynamic shifts in this part as Sean displays his expert knowledge and understanding of Hegel's core theories. In the live stream we discuss:
4:02 The master-slave parable
9:00 Hegel's philosophy of history
14:19 Cunning of Reason
20:33 The Hegelian State
26:21 Hegelian Dialectics
37:50 Why Hegel is important today?
(The video skips in the middle as we had to edit out a visitor but it does not distract from the explanation)

Sean Ledwith is an expert on Hegelian theory and regularly contributes thought pieces, political analysis, and philosophy book reviews to the site Counterfire (https://www.counterfire.org). I am very appreciative of him for taking the time to do these two videos with such confident and detailed understanding.

Is Hegel the ideal philosopher for our times? Let me know in the comments!
