How to Make an 18th century Pocket- Part 1
Thinking about starting an 18th century wardrobe or history bounding? Want to try hand sewing? Join us for part 1 of our 3 part Pocket Sew Along. This is a great “lap” project and a good way to practice your stitches.
Prior to the 19th century pockets were often not integrated into women’s garments. Instead, they were a completely separate piece worn under petticoats or gowns and accessed through a slit or pocket hole. Sometimes they even came in pairs.
