Topworking an Avocado Tree - Part 1
In this video I am Topworking a friend’s Avocado tree. It will make a great rootstock.
Seedling grown trees can take anywhere from six years, to 20 years or not at all. So we don’t want to be waiting around forever!
Grafting is the solution. If done properly you could have fruit within three years, plus you the option to choose your variety based on characteristics, texture, taste etc. One again, grafting is the best solution.
I grafted two A variety (Hass) and B variety (Bacon). The leftover scions I found a way to graft them to the rootstock.
