Our global economy prioritizes growth. But the endless pursuit of profit and growth is pushing the planet past environmental boundaries and toward inequality and social unrest.
Degrowth could be the approach that gets us to the future we need. With “degrowth,” the economy focuses on well-being and sustainability rather than growth. Rather than focusing on accumulating more money, our collective goal becomes developing healthy social bonds and ecosystems.
