In this video, I briefly explain how to blow up a car in After Effects. In this VFX breakdown, I go through the various stages from creating a clean background plate, adding explosions to live-action footage and compositing smoke, dust and glass into your shot.
In this VFX shot, I use methods such as rotoscoping, matte painting and animation to composite all the background elements together to make a "realistic" explosion within aftereffects (as close as can be with this type of shot, stock elements and compositing software)
