This is Episode #2 of the Looming Crisis series that is presented by the Commissioners of the Compact for a Balanced Budget, the only official recognized interstate body that is authorized by the Member State legislatures to represent the states before Congress on national budgetary matters that impact the states. With Congress being both unable and unwilling to address out of control spending and looming inflation, along with its ability to borrow money without limit, our nation is at risk. The Compact approach enables the state legislatures to make the necessary course corrections so that our country operates on sound fiscal policies.
