Great Tits - Small Garden Song Birds - Parus Major - Nest Box - Nesting
This is a short film of the ubiquitous bird the Great Tit. Nearly every garden in the UK with a bird feeder will have one or more visiting. They are a common sight across the whole of Europe and even the north tip of Africa.
The Great Tit is not the most charismatic garden bird and it is not the most tuneful but I know I would miss them if they stopped visiting my garden.
I installed this homemade Silver Birch nest box as an upgrade to the cheap shop bought one used by the Blue Tits, that the Great Spotted Woodpecker destroyed. However, it seems that it was so desirable that the Blue Tits that it was intended for were ousted by the Great Tits in this video. Don't worry the Blue Tits are now nesting in a box on the other side of the garden.
