Artificial Intelligence in Clinical Programming: Benefits and Limitations
In the rapidly advancing field of AI technology, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs), machines are increasingly capable of transforming human-readable elements into machine-readable structured data. This advancement is paving the way for more automated or semi-automated processes, especially in the realm of clinical trials which generate vast amounts of data. In this talk, I’ll discuss how AI, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs), can transform unstructured data into structured data, enhancing efficiency in clinical trials. However, over-reliance on AI in clinical programming, where validation and 100% accuracy are crucial, can be risky. I’ll explore the potential pitfalls of AI and the importance of human oversight. I’ll also touch upon the importance of validation engines, demonstrating a balanced use of AI. The talk aims to present a balanced perspective on AI’s benefits and limitations in statistical programming.
