A Kid with a Backwards Heart (And a Mom who Fought for His Life)
Sebastian was born without part of his 22nd chromosome, a condition known as DiGeorge syndrome. His heart is also backwards, 1 or 3 known cases ever with this anatomy. When he was an infant, doctors did not believe there was anything that could save his life. Sebastian's mom advocated for her son which eventually led to multiple open heart surgeries. Today, Sebastian is a happy 6 year old child. Sebastian's family want others to know that it is important to advocate for kids with disabilities so they can receive the care they deserve.
