Bells of Scafali (PG)
Scafali is a small hamlet in the municipality of Foligno.
The church of San Michele Arcangelo has a bell tower with three bells. The larger and smaller bells were recast by Roberto Mazzola in 1992 using the bronze from a pre-existing bell (in the same year, Mazzola also made bells for Castel Rigone • Campane di Castel Rigone (PG) , Ficulle • Campane di Ficulle (TR) , and Sant'Enea • Campane di Sant'Enea (PG) ).
The middle bell is a unique work: made in 1948 by the Government Technical Institute of Foligno, it is likely the result of a school project carried out immediately after the war and aimed at redeveloping the Foligno area damaged by the war.
