Future foundations for giving
The Productivity Commission’s latest inquiry report, Future Foundations for Giving, sets out several recommendations to strengthen the foundations of philanthropy, supporting the Government’s goal of doubling giving in Australia by 2030. This includes an overhaul of the Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) system, which determines the charities that are eligible to receive tax-deductible donations.
This report has been informed by consultation and submissions from thousands of Australians in the charity sector and the wider community.
In this webinar, Deputy Chair Alex Robson and Commissioner Julie Abramson discuss the findings of this report. They also take questions from the audience where they are joined by former Associate Commissioner Krystian Seibert who also worked on the inquiry.
