Abstract: In our hyperconnected world, both individuals and businesses create cyber footprints, leaving digital breadcrumbs that can reveal sensitive information. These footprints carry significant privacy and security implications, making it crucial to understand and manage them for online safety.
This talk explores the concept of cyber footprints for individuals and businesses, addressing potential risks like identity theft, data breaches, and targeted cyber attacks. Our focus is on raising awareness and sharing real-world examples of the consequences of unmanaged cyber footprints.
We will also discuss practical strategies for managing cyber footprint vulnerabilities, emphasizing the importance of fostering a culture of security and privacy awareness. By the end of the session, attendees will better understand their cyber footprints and the need for proactive monitoring and threat mitigation.
Bio: Euripides ""Ruby"" Rubio is a retired military officer with over 30 years of experience in technical and cyber operations for the US Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and Law Enforcement Agencies. Now, he serves as the President & CEO of Ops Tech Alliance (OTA). Born in Puerto Rico, Ruby overcame poverty and joined the military at 19, speaking no English. After a distinguished career in Intelligence and Special Operations, he retired and established OTA in 2012.
