Colorizing Point Cloud data based on their elevations
During the point-cloud data registration, the point color classifications are merged with the elevation values from the metadata. The points will acquire “Intensity Value” based on their elevations (Z axis) from the base plane, as it is shown in this video. This can be applied in X and Y axis as well. One example of Intensity Value advantage is, the cracks on asphalt and concrete can be detected quickly after completion of Point Cloud registration and processing.
