Wood Floor Sound Insulation with Floating Floor method.

Description of this method: Firstly all the gaps are covered with elastic sealing material. Then a layer of marine plywood is used for strengthening the existing wood floor and also offering sound and water insulation. Then a layer of waterproof recycled rubber is applied to minimize vibration/knocking noise and then a layer of elastic concrete is poored in order to minimize airborne noise. In order to eliminate completely knocking noise, it is suggested to use dense carpet for the surface floor.

This project is about an old tobacco warehouse converted into a luxury hotel.

It is a 1920's multi-storey building with a rectangular plan. The ground floor is divided by a stone wall into two sections with separate entrances. The framework in the building is wooden.
