MATUNE (2020) is a short animation that showcases the skills I've obtained in blender over the past 9 months.
All credit for the music goes to Marcin Przybyłowicz, who made these amazing scores for 'The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt'.
The video unfortunately has lots of flaws (clipping, messed up UV's etc) and I'm fully aware of every single one of them. Though, arguably more importantly, I've come to learn lots of my mistakes with this animation. While some of the minor issues could've been fixed, I decided to leave them with the rest, just so I can reflect on it one day when I've made a proper lengthy animation. That being said, below I've written a little backstory which happens before the events shown in the animation.
Backstory:
Matune is a warrior who represents his kind at the Scattered Islands, his home. He lives there with his girlfriend, Minya. The inhabitants of the Scattered Islands are friendly and welcoming, but poor nonetheless. Here's when a dark wizard, who lives in a cave on top of a tropical mountain, comes in the story. He goes by Narox and he has the power to shatter everything or give to the people, it depends who's on his side.
A war breaks out between several tribes and Matune's people and the Scattered Islands are in grave danger. Narox, who has helped them win the battle by using dark, also accidentally killed Matune's girlfriend. So, Matune climbs the mountain where Narox lives, while carrying the body of Minya.
The rest of the story takes on from here and is shown in this animation.
