Hound Dog / 2009 UCWDC Worlds Novice Line Dance
The dance is "Hound Dog", choreographed by Jill Babinec and Judy McDonald. The music for the song should be "Hound Dog" as performed in the Broadway musical "Smokey Joe's" but YouTube prevented me from uploading the clip with that song as the soundtrack (which I find very strange because there are other videos here that do have the music in them--go figure!). So... I spent quite a bit of time looking for another 120 BPM song that fit and discovered that Shania Twain's "If you're not in it for love" works pretty well with the song. The dance was the Novice Level "Novelty" dance used at the 2009 UCWDC World Championships of Country Western Dance. I competed in Open, Crystal and Diamond. This is the Crystal heat. I placed 1st overall in Crystal, tied for 1st in Open and placed 2nd overall in Diamond. It was lots of fun! The event was held in Orlando Florida at one of the Disney World Resorts.
