Ah, the famous CRI (Color Rendering Index)! 🔍🎨 In the lighting industry, it's been a hot topic for decades, long before the invention of LEDs. But is it truly reliable? And is it really a good indicator of the quality of LED lighting?
With only 8 "reference" colors to assess the accuracy of a light source, its results don't always reflect reality. Even worse, some projectors can optimize their results across the 8 colors used for measurement to achieve a high CRI score, but they won't be good light sources that accurately reflect the reality of the objects they illuminate. That's why the Illuminating Engineering Society released the TM-30 in 2015 (the TM-30-15 to be more precise, corrected by the TM-30-18 in 2018 and finally the TM-30-20 in 2020). With its 99 measured colors, it's much more reliable. Because while you can "cheat" with 8 colors, it's much harder to do so with 99. You can fool 1,000 people once... No, you can fool one person 1,000 times... No... Anyway, you get the idea! And if you don't, listen carefully as Pilou explains it all!

NOTE: Oh yes, and for those who voted in the last BATTLE video (found here: • BATTLE 🥊 On design notre studio… Et c'est ... , the reds won, but only just, as we counted 8 to 7 for the reds at the end of the week.
So we started again from the red team's base to build the studio, but since the result was close, we incorporated some good ideas from the blue team and, most importantly, we listened to your many suggestions to optimize the result, as we showed you during a Facebook Live which you can find on our Facebook page: Facebook.com/ETC.France.officiel
So a big thank you to everyone who commented on this battle! 🙏
