Learn how to avoid this common sublimation mistake
I thought about not uploading this sublimation video, but making mistakes is how we learn, so hopefully you can learn from something that went wrong for me!
In this video, I attempt to press a polyester t-shirt at 180 degrees for 2 mins, using the combination 5 in 1 heat press, but do not press start on the machine quickly enough, which results in the machine dropping below the required starting temperature of 180 degrees.
Once this happens, the accuracy of the press settings are significantly reduced, since the press will continue to drop in temperature, and the timer will only begin counting down once the press heats up again to the correct starting temperature.
Since I knew this would compromise the desired outcome, I chose to stop the transfer process, and use the t-shirt for additional sampling.
In the video, because the printed transfer was only in contact with the shirt for a few seconds and had not released a lot of ink, I was able to use the same print, with the correct settings, to complete a second transfer achieving the desired result.
