Rolling Hills Asylum Ghost Hunt
Rolling Hills Asylum Ghost Hunt March 9, 2013. This hunt was completed with my friend & Rush row buddy from CT along with her sister and brother. Many thanks to RHA management Sharon Coyle and the volunteers who were present that night.
Well, it has been a long time coming, again, since my last ghost hunt. (also for this video, life happens sometimes) This was also the first hunt I 'set up' myself, outside of hopping on a bus with the Haunted Hamilton folks. I think we picked a great weekend to have the hunt, the weather was calm and if I recall just a slight moon was showing.
The tour was fantastic, very much history about the building, grounds, the residents, spirits, media coverage. Between RHA and TALA, I have to say I felt an interesting connection to both, more so for RHA (it might be because of the closeness to home) so I definitely want to get back for another visit/hunt. There were more than a few areas that I never fully got to cover, and of course the whole evening I served as 'pro ghost guide' for my group. So I never got to do any solo hunting, where I have found in the past to get some of my best evp captures.
The building from the onset felt charged. Literally walking in the side door and up those first few steps, it did not let down at all. As much as nothing spectacular happened the whole night, it never did feel like we were alone or the building felt "dead" (oh puns).
Some of the personal highlights include the 4th floor. Just finishing up in Nurse Emmie's room, where the one lady in my group got her arm tugged on, the whole mood changed at the snap of a finger. It felt like there was a dark and menacing energy just staring us down. I don't know if we did anything to make anything mad, but (typical Canadian here) I will be apologizing profusely on my next visit to whomever we may have offended. The chapel also seemed ready to 'come alive' with energy. However, just as it felt ready to happen, some one else in my group got 'touched' by some form of energy so it was back to the 'green room' for us all to calm down. It was pretty much the end of the night at that point, but I was able to head off with another group there to follow up and see if anything was still lingering in the chapel.
final noes; The others in my group had their first successful, and eventful, ghost hunt and it was number five for myself. I'm definitely planning on coming back, hopefully in the fall, hopefully when it is not quite as cold too. Great time had by all at a stellar location, go book a ghost hunt there if you can get the chance!
