Today I realize that will not be the case, the resolution is far too poor and YouTube seem not quite ready for the format. The hammer proved far to light weight to be used for all-round forging but have been used throughout the forest project as a fine surface hammer flattening the rough stone forged surfaces.
You need tools to make tools. Some tools are given, you’ve got hands and arms, eyes and ears, and all the materials and plants found in nature. Other tools can be made. In this video you are invited to come along into the forest as I look for stones and make a primitive forging hammer.
The whole thing is set on a piece of land in mid-south Sweden, originally ran by a family of blacksmiths. All the hand held tools are found and processed on this piece of land. The project is part of my training to become a PhD Blacksmith at the University of Gothenburg.
