Multicamera sync video editing in DaVinci Resolve is a powerful feature that allows you to edit footage from multiple cameras simultaneously and efficiently. This is particularly useful for projects like interviews, live events, concerts, or any situation where multiple cameras are used to capture different angles of the same event.

Here's how multicamera sync video editing works in DaVinci Resolve:

Importing Footage: Start by importing all the video and audio clips from the various cameras into the media pool of your DaVinci Resolve project. Make sure that the clips are correctly organized, so you can easily identify which camera they belong to.

Create a Multicamera Timeline: Right-click in the media pool and select "New Multicamera Clip" from the contextual menu. This action will create a new timeline that will be used to synchronize the clips from different cameras.

Synchronizing the Clips: Once you have your multicamera timeline, drag the video and audio clips from each camera onto this timeline. With all the clips in place, select them all and right-click. From the contextual menu, choose "Create Multicamera Clip."

Multicamera Clips Options: A dialog box will appear with various options for creating the multicamera clip. You can choose the method of synchronization, such as timecode, in-point, or audio waveform. Choose the one that best suits your footage. DaVinci Resolve will analyze the chosen synchronization method and align the clips based on your selection.

Multicamera Editing: After the multicamera clip is created, you'll see the different camera angles stacked on top of each other in the timeline. The active camera angle will be displayed in the viewer, and you can easily switch between camera angles by clicking on the corresponding clip in the timeline or by using the multicamera viewer interface.

Switching Camera Angles: While in the Edit page, there's a dedicated "Multicamera Viewer" panel where you can see all the camera angles laid out. You can perform real-time cuts between different angles by clicking on the desired camera angle while the playback is ongoing.

Editing Multicamera Clips: You can make cuts, trims, and edits in the multicamera timeline just like in any regular timeline. When you make changes, they will be applied to the active camera angle. If you want to make specific changes to a particular camera angle, you can switch to that angle in the multicamera viewer and make adjustments accordingly.

Fine-Tuning: DaVinci Resolve also provides tools for fine-tuning the multicamera synchronization if needed. You can adjust sync points, switch angles manually, or refine the audio synchronization further.

Using multicamera sync video editing in DaVinci Resolve can significantly speed up your workflow and give you more creative control over your project, allowing you to produce dynamic and engaging videos with multiple camera angles seamlessly integrated.
