Starting your teaching career comes with a lot of new experiences and responsibilities. One key benefit of your job that you might not know a lot about is your pension. This video is designed to help you understand the Teachers' Pension Scheme and how it works.

Your pension is a crucial part of your financial future. It's something you contribute to throughout your teaching career to ensure you have the lifestyle you want in retirement. Unlike many pension schemes, the Teachers' Pension Scheme bases your pension on your average salary throughout your career, not investments which can be unpredictable.

Each month, both you and your employer contribute to the scheme. The amount you contribute depends on your earnings, and you'll receive tax relief on these contributions. For every year you contribute, you build up benefits that go towards your final pension. You'll need to contribute for two years to qualify for benefits, and you can still contribute if you're working part-time or on family leave.

For more detailed information about your pension and to find out how much you'll contribute each month, please visit our website: https://www.teacherspensions.co.uk/me...
