The short answer is, yes, an irrevocable trust can open an LLC.
Here’s why you want to do that. Although you cannot sue a trust you can sue a trustee. If you’re operating your trust as a business, it makes the assets reachable.
If the trust opens an LLC you now have a protected entity, especially if you file taxes as a C Corp. that keeps all of your profits and losses within the LLC.
Creditors are limited to LLC assets, not trust assets. 🏆
