This Short Film was made in 1999. (Yeah, I was 19!!!) Quality is not good, as it copy from my VHS Tape. It's a docu-drama like short film I've made to express my friend's point of view of how not to be something she meant to be.
Duration: 8 minutes,
Made in Hong Kong.
Directed by Lucia Yuen
Cinematographer: Wendy Wan
Editor: Lucia Yuen
Sound Mixing: Tracy Leung
For some of you may not know, this video was NOT edited in a computer or editing software which have multiple sound tracks and multiple video tracks that we usually use today.
This video was edited in a video mixer deck, if you know what "Video Tape" is, you know "video editing" in that day is a "Linear" editing process, which mean you have to edit your footage shot by shot without correct the duration in the middle. (so it has to be planned before) which is not like what my students do today, they can shot for over 5 hours aimless materials then using a Non-Linear editing software to edit it down for 10mins by experimenting the sound and visual combination before "output" it. (so... It's not like "why don't you experimenting your sight & sound?" but hey, it's just not the way I did in this scripted documentary.)
Well... is that make sense to you that technology changes leading our process of making things change? It totally make sense to me, and I think it's normal. Hope you Enjoy it (as usual). Please be nice. Thanks. :D
*This video won Distinguished Award in IFVA Youth Category. And was nominated the best documentary as well. Enjoy.
