In this video I walk through completing the page step by step: applying Distress Oxides in rainbow color wheel order, blending them, and then going back over the black line work with a white gel pen for extra definition and highlights.
I also briefly touch on color wheel basics—showing how you can start with just the primary colors (red, yellow, blue) and mix/blend to create the full rainbow range in your ink selection. Plus, a quick note on the difference between regular Distress Ink (dye-based, more translucent and fast-drying for a grittier, antique vibe) and Distress Oxide (hybrid dye-pigment, creamier texture that sits on the surface for easier blending and softer, layered results). It’s a simple mixed media way to bring the mandala to life while experimenting with inks instead of my usual pencils.
