In April 2021, 12-year-old Jane's journey took an unexpected turn when she sought medical help for persistent neck pain. What initially appeared as a possible infection turned out to be a diagnosis of Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Jane's battle against cancer began at St. Luke's Children's Cancer Institute, where she faced multiple rounds of chemotherapy with unwavering strength and positivity. Throughout her treatment, Jane continued to embrace life's joys, playing the piano, traveling with her family, and even serving as her school's student body president.
Today, she stands in remission since July 2021, a testament to her resilience. Jane's transformative experience with cancer has shaped her perspective on life, igniting a deep desire to help others and uplift those facing challenges.
"Cancer has changed my life in so many ways. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without getting cancer. I made new friends and was able to help more people," Jane said. "Yes, cancer was hard for me, and the effects of it are still a challenge, but I have become a stronger person because of it.”
Her inspiring journey reminds us that even in the face of adversity, strength and growth can emerge, shaping us into stronger individuals.
