GOOD AND BAD NEWS FOR F2P IN 4.0! | Genshin Impact
Fontaine isn’t too far away now and a lot of people are excited for the new region, and the rewards, obviously. Let’s just start, so similar to how we got Collei for free when Sumeru came out, I think we will be able to get Lynette for free as well when Fontaine comes out. Lynette is a 4-star Anemo Bow user, who has been officially announced by Hoyoverse so she’ll most likely appear in the 4.0 banners, making it even more likely that we will be able to get her for free.
Now I can’t guarantee how true this is but there’s been a lot of speculation saying that we will be getting a Bennett for free. I don’t know how or why we would but if I had to guess it’s because a lot of the Fontaine characters’ kits are based on them draining their HP, and Bennett being the Pyro archon who can heal and buff at the same time, it would make sense.
That’s not all, it seems we will also be getting free new weapons of all types, a sword, bow, claymore, catalyst and a polearm. However, the bad news is that speculations suggest that all of these weapons have underwhelming effects, at least for the current roster of characters. What I mean by that is, all their effects are based around losing HP, meaning you’d pretty much need a healer on the team for the characters to perform well. In my opinion, I think the reason why all these weapons are like that is because Fontaine characters are heavily based around having low HP to do well. One thing to note is that the free polearm has a HP percent substat, meaning it could be a solid F2P option for the Zhongli havers.
