Recorded on the Inter-City Express from Cologne to Würzburg, the second episode from the mini series “Mezz Mix On Tour” is an hour long railway themed techno mix called “Trans-Europe Express: Total Transport Techno”, featuring footage of Germany from the rails taken on my summer holiday inter-railing.
Mezzanine Mix, hosted by resident DJ - Silkman, is a mix series with shows in a variety of genres. We'll be uploading a new mix every other Sunday until 2024 - / @mezzaninemix. .
The mix builds up with some mellow ambient techno tracks, before progressing into heavier Berlin & Detroit techno inspired by the industrial surroundings of North Rhine-Westphalia. Upon arrival in the lush forests of Bavaria, I slowly revert back to a more mellow sound.
Had couple of a train-wrecks ( ;) ) half way through when confused ticket & passport inspectors interrupted the recording but these things happen when recording in public! I’ve not played techno for quite a while so it was nice to delve into the archives and play music I’d not listened to for quite a few years.
