VS SCOUT - Virtual Scouting Tool kit
The ongoing World-wide pandemic and the increasing move to Virtual Production and VR/AR enabled data have prompted us to develop a whole new approach to our work. Our new bespoke location scouting service called VS Scout is designed for productions wishing to capture and understand locations whilst reducing the need to send large numbers of crew. The aim is to also drastically reduce traditional timescales; as you will see from the attached pdf, based on one day's capture, we're able to turn around a full VR environment within one week. It has been designed in a radically immersive manner; via an iPad or VR headset all crew can visit the location without the need to travel. In addition to this, the scan is captured data-rich
(both LiDAR and photogrammetry) meaning that a wealth of information, not limited to VR, can be extracted for use across the production and throughout various departments from Locations, Art Departments to final VFX.
