Goodbye 👋 Abellio 172 - Final buses Operated by Abellio London 😢
Doubledeckeranton once again catches up with the last buses 🚍 and drivers 👮 operated by Abellio London, this time on Route 172.
As the route transfers ➡ to another bus company in London on March 17th 2018, Anton speaks to some of the drivers and passengers en-route from Brockley Rise to Clerkenwell Green.
Driver Tadese from Ethiopia is looking forward to driving brand new buses 😀👍 at the New Cross garage from where he previously worked before the route was transferred 7 years ago!
Driver Godfrey decides to stay 👌 at Walworth and drive 🚍 route 45, taking Anton on his final 172 journey through Brockley, New Cross, Old Kent Road, Elephant & Castle (where driver Mariusz takes over) and continues the journey through Waterloo, Aldwych, Royal Courts of Justice, Fleet Street (taking in views of St Pauls Cathedral) and finishing at Clerkenwell Green.
The 2005 Wright bodied Gemini Volvo B7L buses will be replaced by new Enviro Hybrids on Alexander Dennis Bodies!
Anton reminisces 😉 about driving these very same buses when he was based at Walworth garage in 2012-2016.
Also on the journey coincidentally is Random Bus Girl Alicia who was also documenting the final day of bus operation by Abellio.
A Big thankyou 👏 to all the bus drivers at Abellio for their many years of service on Route 172 between Brockley Rise and St Pauls/Clerkenwell Green in the City. 👍😆
