"Almost anyone can be trained to move his fingers in a certain manner. But to recreate the composer's work, to re-enact his intentions with as little as possible admixture of one's own personality requires much more than training. That indispensable feeling for the proper style can not be infused into anyone - it has to grow. Hence, one of my main aims in writing these pieces was to provide study material that will aid in such growth."
