Have you ever encountered a file with a classic PivotTable in it, only to think "Hmm... I need to add more tables into this solution", or maybe "I really wish I could use DAX here"? Of course, the only way to rectify this is to go and rebuild the entire solution into a data model version... which takes a LOT of work. First you need to investigate and connect the original data source to the data model, then you need to re-create the Pivots, Slicers and Timelines. And let's not forget about re-creating all the aggregations as Explicit measures... Do the PivotTables include subtotals? Autofit properties? Any other customizations? Are the slicers and timelines linked across multiple Pivots?
Truly it's a daunting task, particularly if there are many in the file. Well guess what? Our Modern Pivot Monkey is trained to know exactly what to do, and take care of the entire job for you. It will pull your data into the data model via Power Query (even converting your data into a table if necessary). It recreates all implicit measures as Explicit DAX measures, and then creates a copy of each worksheet building a data-model backed version of each PivotTable, PivotChart, Slicer and Timeline it finds in the workbook.
If you want to upgrade your classic PivotTable solutions to take advantage of Power Pivot, this monkey has got your back, allowing you to focus on the important part: enriching the model.
