Private Estate Wedding in Asheville, NC
Kristen and Micah’s garden wedding on a private estate in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina was the day they had dreamed of for years. The couple was wed on a lovely May afternoon under the trees, surrounded by their family and friends gathered to celebrate their union. Everyone was overjoyed for this family centered pair – especially since the couple was getting married after 9 years together! With the bride’s two grandmothers in ailing health, they were ecstatic that both were able to be there for the big day. (I am sad to share that since then, Mimi, Kristen’s maternal grandmother, has passed away. She was such a joy to meet during such a special time!) Mimi was present during some of Kristen’s bridal session, smiling from ear to ear watching her granddaughter relishing in wedding bliss as we played throughout Asheville. It warms my heart to know we have lots of photos of her with her beloved family that they can treasure – honored to have a job that lets me do that.
Kristen’s Allure Bridal gown was stunning! It was two layers, the first a fitted silky gown and then a custom lace dress over it was a uniquely classic look. Bridesmaids were dressed in yellow with colorful parasols, and the groomsmen, dressed in white shirts, yellow ties and khakis, added to the natural, relaxed whimsy of their wedding day. The day had many high points: the awesome private estate venue with a cabin and creek, the adoring couple being so in love (and game to climb into a tree for photos…giving me some of my favorite wedding photos ever!), their amazing friends and family, the idyllic afternoon that turned into evening. It gave me more love and beauty to photograph than I could ever put into words! It was a challenge to narrow the images enough to finally share part of their fabulous day.
The perfect wedding day always takes a top notch team to pull it off, and this wedding was no exception. With the help of Sara Fields as the planner, the day went smoothly and everyone had a wonderful time. There were sweet floral arrangements with hydrangeas throughout and yellow callas for the bouquets by Studio Flora Diva, yummy food – NC BBQ by Holy Smokes!, cupcakes by a dear friend of the bride – Latin Sweets Cupcakes by Ileana, great music dj’d by Robby with a Bride’s DJ, and trolley service by Asheville Historic Trolley. Loved getting to work with Chris from WNC Video to capture it all. Always a pleasure to work with great wedding vendors!!
